The Saskatchewan Music Festival Association has chosen RJC Chorale to represent Saskatchewan at the National Music Festival to be held in Edmonton in August.The National journey began in March when Chorale competed at the local festival (Sask Valley Music Festival) in Rosthern. They entered the Paul J. Bourret National Choral Class for High School Choirs, receiving sufficient marks to qualify to send a recording on to the provincial level of the national competition.
On Monday June 2, the provincial festival chose the recording of Chorale over all the other entries from around the province in the national class. The recording will be sent on, to compete with recordings of the best high school choruses from each province.
The two songs for the national class that Chorale performed are "Loch Lomond" and "Sleep".
