Picture of Chorale on Tour

We took this picture today at Carly Dyck's place in Lethbridge. Her parents generously supplied a brunch for the whole choir. Just before we left for Calgary, we took this picture:

Chorale Tour, In Progress!

Greetings from Lethbridge! We've been having a good tour, singing at many places already.

We started in Didsbury, AB on Wednesday, where Richard tried a new recording setup. He thought he should take advantage of the great acoustics in the Bergthal Mennonite Church there. It was a great presentation.

On Thursday, we spent the day and evening at Menno Simons Christian School in Calgary.

Chorale sings in the atrium at Menno Simons Christian School.

There were many kids there.
Menno Simons had just recently finished a production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which of course RJC performed in December.  MSCS actually used some of our props and costumes, so it was fun to introduce the characters to each other.

In the evening, we had a combined concert with the Menno Simons Choirs, but first we went out to Montana's for supper.

Not sure if it was actually Luke's birthday, but he got the wear the antlers anyway!

The concert in the evening was an awesome night of music by both schools. The Menno Simnon's kids can sure sing! We even did a couple of pieces together.

Both choirs sang together to end the concert.

Today we sang at Immanuel Christian School in Lethbridge, AB.  Their choir had just recently returned from their own tour to Manitoba. So in front of the whole school we had a bit of a sing-off.  Their choir was pretty good too. We certainly held our own! After singing at the school, we found a park to hang out in for a while. Beautiful weather we're having here.

This evening we sang at the College Drive Community Church here in Lethbridge. This is Carly Dyck's church, so it was great to sing for her family and friends.  A whole group from Pincher Creek came out to hear us too (and cheer on Clay Buhler who grew up there), and even Judith Schulz had a cheering section. Even though the choir was a bit tired by now, they found the energy to deliver another outstanding performance.

Tomorrow Carly's parents are feeding us brunch before we head back to Calgary and Trinity Mennonite Church for the evening.

We don't get internet access often, so I don't know when I'll be able to post again. Keep us in our prayers that it will continue to be a safe and meaningful trip.
